Roots to my journey

Coming from a Bengali family and raised in Kolkata, my childhood was shaped by learning art, craft, literature and diverse forms of storytelling.

My creative instincts are deeply rooted in my culture.

My earliest memories are defined by my mother’s encouragement of my rough pencil sketches adorning our home walls, and the mesmerizing sight of her skillfully crafting Kantha blankets—each meticulous stitch telling a story of the Royal Bengal Tiger, mythology, or nature.

While my peers buried themselves in textbooks, I found myself drawn to painting imaginary landscapes using watercolors or practicing Bengali classical music the night before my math exams.

These were the spaces where I developed taste & felt entirely fulfilled.

I soon realized these pursuits weren't just hobbies; they were early manifestations of a creative energy that would ultimately guide my path toward design.

The pursuit took me places

Today, my creative journey seeks purpose and taste.

Having worked at high growth startups, and as a freelancer delivering projects—I’ve realized that the joy of being a valuable designer is to be able to be responsible and true to the human side of things.

Alongside design, I have spent a decade behind the camera capturing the unnoticed.

Recognized globally by Canon and Google this eye for visual composition brings a cinematic rhythm to my UI & Branding works, ensuring they hold authentic presence, feeling, and command trust.

When not designing,

I explore creative ways to mix sketching and painting styles, read books, watch UX-related videos, listen to my mom talking about her cooking recipes, explore different music and languages, observe nature, people and study the world.

A few of my evening art explorations where I tend to express my imaginative landscapes and enjoy rough product sketches mixing different watercolor techniques.

Abstract watercolor sketch of geometric shapes including a yellow pyramid on a square base, a purple tetrahedron, an orange rectangular prism, and a red rectangular prism, all with black outlines and colored watercolor accents.
A digital sketch of a green perfume bottle with a black cap, set against a bright green background, signed 'Slightly Charlie'.
A matchstick with a white and red head and a red core, standing upright on a white background.
A modern wooden chair with a green cushion, positioned in front of a beige wall with a geometric circle design.
A Chanel lipstick in black packaging with a gold logo, standing upright with the lipstick extended, set against a gradient black to white background.
Digital painting of a landscape scene with a body of water, grassy foreground, a hill with trees in the background, and a single tree on the right side, all in shades of blue and black with soft, artistic brushstrokes and bokeh light effects.
Digital painting of a solitary tree with purple blossoms, standing on a pink and purple gradient ground against a white background.
